Paulus wil ons in Fil 2:1-4 herinner hoe om kerk te wees. (Laai die hele preek hier af)

Luister na die Word on the street se weergawe daarvan:

Some questions: (Check Yes or No)
Are there big pay-offs to having this connection with the Liberator? Yes/No
Does His love get you through the dark times? Yes/No
Does His Holy Spirit pull you together? Yes/No
Are you moved when tragic things happen? Yes/No
If you checked yes to all of the above, then make my day - love each other!
Be united, be one, pull together, sing off the same page. 
Don’t elbow people, step on people, stab  people in the back just to get yourself noticed.
Put a mirror to the real you, with no fancy “soul enhancing” lighting special effects;
then look back at anyone else and reckon they’re better than you.
Don’t just look after number 1, but also look out for each other.

Paulus het in die vorige perikoop gepraat oor drie goed:

• Dat die gelowiges hulle allerbeste moet gee;
• Dat hulle vir Christus moet lewe – veral dat hulle lewens al hoe meer moet ooreenstem met hoe die Bybel dit uitspel;
• Dat hulle as vriende moet lewe – bv. saam moet stry vir die boodskap van die evangelie.
  

Sy motivering was, daar is groot teenstand van buite af, en sonder eenheid sal hulle nie kan staande bly nie.

In hoofstuk 2 praat hy verder hieroor, maar fokus op die gevaar wat van binne af kan kom, as gelowiges nie mekaar liefhet en een van hart en een van strewe, lewe nie.
